• Missions

    missions

Missions is not just something we do – it is who we are! We like to relate it to being “our heartbeat”! Our church is totally committed to helping build bridges around the world to reach those who are lost and without Jesus Christ. Jesus came into the world to save sinners (I Timothy 1:15). Missions is God's heartbeat and therefore is should be our heartbeat!

We are committed to world-wide missions outreach and for over nineteen years, Freedom has been supporting missionaries, evangelists, and church planters. Throughout these nineteen years, Freedom has maintained a heart for the world-wide work of God.

Our missionaries are supported through and sent by local Bible believing and preaching churches. The members of Freedom have made the financial support of global evangelization a high priority, and the church's mission budget reflects just that. Every penny that comes in for missions or special missionary projects goes directly to our missionaries. Not a penny stays to here for our day to day operations.

In addition to foreign missions Freedom desires to plant more churches in the United States that are rooted and grounded in God’s Word. We desire that every person will have the opportunity to hear a clear and rightly divided presentation of the gospel.

Our church frequently conducts foreign mission trips expose our people to the work of a missionary as well as to allow them to see the heart of a missionary.  Freedom regularly teaches, preaches, and holds times where missions are emphasized to help our entire church maintain a heart for world-wide missions.

Our desire is to see Christians serving not only in the local church but to be sent to work in other churches as well as around the world through missions. The greatest measure of a church is not its seating capacity but its sending capacity.

Our passion is not to see how big our local church can become, but rather how much we can grow the body of Christ in this world. This is done by providing prayer and financial support to other co-laborers in the world, starting new churches, encouraging hurting churches, sharing what we have learned, learning from others, sending missionaries, and much more.

We are thrilled when God allows us to have a small part in the great good He is doing in and through world-wide missions.

  • Outreach

    outreach & Evangelism

Colossians 1:27b, 28"...Christ in you, the hope of glory: Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus."

In our Outreach and Evangelism ministry, it is our desire and goal to help every person in our church fulfill this Great Commission in our community by providing many opportunities for the church family to get involved with reaching their families, friends, co-workers, and neighbors with the gospel message. We also offer several support groups to nurture and minister to those past hurts and needs.

Simply stated, this is the vision and purpose of Freedom in Outreach and Evangelism:

    • To develop every members' desire to reach family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Deepening our relationship with Christ first, then His fruit will flow out of us.
    • To proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to every person in our community through personal evangelism. Engaging the culture.
    • To provide opportunities both on our property and out in the community for our church family to invite the unchurched. Taking the church to the city.
    • To provide training for every church member on how to connect and reach people they know with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Equipping the saints to do the work of the ministry.
    • To have Freedom be recognized in the community as a ministry that cares for people. Simply stated, this is becoming “a church for others”.

Freedom strives for excellence in ministering to our members, our community, and the whole world through missions. However, we also believe that it is impossible to grow without change. We are always willing to grow in new areas and learn new ideas in which we can continue reaching our community and the rest of the world through our love in action.

We simply do not exist only for the internal benefit of the believers and our church. We desire to grow deeper in the love of Christ that we may share that love with others through outreach.

  • Worship

    Worship

All our services are centered on the same theme, and that is one of bringing a Biblical message as well as singing Christ-centered music.

Worship is the act of loving and responding to God! Through the heart-warming, Christ-filled music and the clear, Bible teaching and preaching in our services, your heart will be inspired to love and to respond to God. Each week, families are strengthened, encouraged, and drawn closer to Him through these special times together. Each service is carefully planned and prayed over so that Christ may work in your life!

Through the practical, Bible preaching, families are being encouraged, needs are being met, and lives are being changed. Every week God's Word is opened and boldly proclaimed.

Every week our team of singers and musicians gather to worship the Lord through music and together we worship the Lord in a way that truly honors Him. We invite you to join us in one of our weekly services.

    l.i.f.e. groups

The word L.I.F.E. stands for Learning — Involvement — Friendship — Encouragement
Our L.I.F.E. Groups are an environment in which the Bible is taught in a small group format for open discussion. You also will be able to make application in your life that will in turn help you become a more mature Christian in your walk with Christ. We desire to learn the Bible and live the Bible at Freedom. Outside of our normal services we believe that the best place to grow spiritually and build relationships is through one of our small groups called L.I.F.E. Groups.

These Bible studies are what you may have known in the past as Sunday school. These small group Bible studies are not just for children. Our Bible studies are each and every Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. and are for ages 3 and up. Will you consider joining one of our many adult, teen, and children L.I.F.E. Groups on Sunday? Come, grow and change with us through the teaching and application of the Bible for our everyday lives.

    Bible Growth Groups At Freedom

What is Bible Growth Groups? It is simply the discipleship of one believe with another believer in order that they may grow deeper in the love of Christ. Discipleship is an extremely important part of our church.

We desire to see Christians growing in their relationship with Christ, thereby becoming fruit bearing disciples of Jesus Christ. Many times discipleship classes are very academic in nature, attempting to teach people the "dos" and "don´ts" of the Christian life. This is not the goal of our discipleship plan.

Our focus is to teach people how to develop a closer relationship with Christ. We desire for people to clearly see their identity in Christ, as well as their absolute completeness in Him.

Listed here is a brief synopsis of each lesson. If you would like to sign up for one of our discipleship growth groups, click here and this will take you to our Connect page.

  • Teens

    teens

    7th - 12th grade
The youth and adolescent years can be confusing, difficult, and challenging! But they can also be awesome! Through Sunday classes, weekly outreach, monthly activities, annual trips, retreats, and programs, the teens at Freedom are challenged and equipped to live for Christ while they are in their youth.

Each year, the teens can look forward to camps, trips, outreach events, fun activities, and many opportunities to grow in God’s Word. We do everything within our power to provide the Bible-based wisdom that teens need, combined with the friendly atmosphere that teens enjoy!

Everyone wants good friends – the kind of friends who will be there for you when you really need them. Student Ministries is made up of teens from every high school and middle school in the area. The common bond is that we all want to know God personally and live out His purposes in our lives.

If you’re tired of pretending to be someone so that other people will accept you… quit playing the game. Quit risking your future for someone else’s approval. You will find real friendships and support at Freedom’s Student Ministries.

Our teens meet every Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. for a time of fellowship, games, and a Bible study that is relevant to their life.

  • Awana

    awana

Here at Freedom, we love children.  On Sunday evenings at 6 p.m., we use the AWANA program. This acronym stands for "approved workmen are not ashamed." During this program, kids participate in Scripture memorization, competitions, and activities. They are also given character training through the various Biblical lessons taught and by the examples set by their club leaders. Our AWANA is offered to children from 3 years of age thru the 6th grade. Our staff is a group of faithful, trained, and please know that the children are well supervised and that everyone serving has gone through an extensive background check.

Here are some FAQs about AWANA…

  • Bus

    bus ministry

    3 years - Adult
Our bus ministry is for children ages 3 and up. Often times there are children unable to attend due to lack of transportation, parents having to work, or there is no money to provide for gas. We do not ever want transportation to be the reason boys and girls cannot come to church.

The routes are from the Axton area and the Collinsville area.  Many of these children are underprivileged, and the love of Christ that they receive through the bus ministry is the highlight of their week. The bus route is visited on Saturdays starting at 10 a.m.

This ministry is staffed by faithful Christian volunteers who love children. To be a part or to help get someone a ride to church, call us today! We desire to grow this ministry and therefore if you know of someone who would like to ride, drive, or help on the bus routes, please contact us and let us know.

Please know that the children are well supervised and that everyone serving has gone through an extensive background check. These adults are also well trained and equipped to share the love of Christ is a fun, relevant learning environment.
