Greg received Jesus Christ as his personal Savior on September 16, 1980 while attending a revival meeting at Calvary Road Baptist Church in Alexandria, Virginia. After graduating from Martinsville High School, in Martinsville, Virginia, and joining the U.S. Marine Corps in 1985, his relationship with The Lord really began to develop when a fellow marine challenged him to "walk his talk." After that, Greg began serving in various church ministries wherever he was stationed.
After marrying his high school sweetheart on August 3, 1991, Greg and his wife Krista, began serving The Lord at Parham Road Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia. In June of 1992, the couple moved to Northern Virginia, when Greg transferred his active-duty status to the U.S. Army.
The Corcorans initially became members of Battlefield Baptist Church in Warrenton, Virginia in July 1993. Four years later during a Missions Revival, Greg and his wife surrendered their lives to full-time Christian service and immediately began moving towards fulfillment of that commitment. Over the next 9 years, they were trained and served in various leadership capacities within the church. In late 2006, after more than 21 years of collective service in the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Army, Greg retired as a Sergeant Major, ending his active duty military service; he was awarded The Legion of Merit for his exceptionally meritorious service to the nation at that time.
Heeding God's call, Greg immediately enrolled in Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri to begin his formal education. Soon after, he began leading the College & Career Ministry at Park Crest Baptist Church in Springfield, Missouri. After graduating Summa Cum Laude, Greg joined the full-time staff of Park Crest Baptist as the Associate Pastor. In July 2012, Greg was led by God to return to Battlefield Baptist as the Assistant Pastor, and in November 2013, became the Senior Pastor of Battlefield Baptist Church.
After returning to southern Virginia in the fall of 2024 and seeing the need for pastoral leadership, Greg accepted the call to become the Pastor of Freedom Baptist Church. His desire in all things is to point people to Jesus Christ.
Greg and his wife Krista have two boys, Colby and Casey. Colby is a 2016 graduate of Liberty University with a degree in Pastoral Leadership. In 2018, he married his multi-talented wife, Taylor. He now serves as the Communications/Tech Director at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Springfield, Missouri. Casey is a 2023 graduate of West Virginia University with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He is currently teaching Physics at Kettle Run High School, his alma mater. He also serves as the Head Coach of the girls’ varsity basketball team. He serves with the praise team by playing guitar and singing at Battlefield Baptist Church in Warrenton, Virginia. The Corcorans have also been blessed by God since 2008 with Lauren, the "daughter" they always wanted. She was 18 at the time; she now resides in Springfield, Missouri and works for the Springfield Police Department.
